I am a Norwegian citizen, and a social anthropologist by training. I work professionally on development cooperation and aid, and travel substantially internationally (including in Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and South Asia). My broad area of interest and expertise is in social development. I focus specifically on subsistence practices and livelihoods (incl. fisheries and agriculture) among ethnic and cultural minorities and indigenous peoples, with a view to support integration, participation, and inclusion in the broader national society. More specific expertise are in the areas of capacity building, democratization, involuntary resettlement, project management, and training. In Bulgaria I have a specific interest in the Roma ethnic and cultural minority, and their position in Bulgarian society. In terms of evaluation I cover the whole project cycle. I work primarily through my two consulting firms Supras Ltd. that are registered in Bulgaria and in Norway.
I am the founder and current chairperson of the Bulgarian Monitoring and Evaluation Network (BEN). I live partly in Sofia, Bulgaria and partly in Kristiansand, Norway.
